East had begun on 183 for 4 in pursuit of West’s 314 and soon lost the wicket of Shreevats Goswami to Samad Fallah. Natraj Behera and Majumdar steadied East with a partnership of 54 before Behera was bowled for 130 by Sandip Maniar. Though Shahbaz Nadeem departed quickly, Basant Mohanty hung around for 57 deliveries as Majumdar took East past 314. West got rid of the tail eventually to end the innings on 343. Majumdar finished on 102 off 147 deliveries.West lost Harshad Khadiwale to Mohanty before Rohit Motwani and Ambati Rayudu helped them recover to 55 for 1. Mohanty struck again to have Rayudu caught behind and Abu Nechim grabbed three more to leave West tottering at 111 for 5. Nechim bowled Cheteshwar Pujara for 2 and then removed Motwani. Suryakumar Yadav, who had made 134 in the first innings, stroked his way to 34 off 30 deliveries before Nechim had him caught by Ishank Jaggi. Kaustubh Pawar and Abhishek Nayar were the last pair of specialist batsmen at the crease for West. The winner of this game will go through to meet North Zone in the semi-final.

The announcement by the USACA board to push back the elections is the latest in a mounting list of delays for elections which are now almost a year overdue. No reason was given for the delay.The elections will be held at the USACA Annual General Meeting at the Westin Hotel in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. A USACA press release states that all of USACA’s member leagues are eligible to submit nominations for board positions by March 12, but only the 15 league presidents whose leagues are in “good standing” will be allowed to attend the AGM. The USACA board recently voted to make 32 of its member leagues ineligible to vote in the upcoming elections.The current board’s three-year term should have ended on March 29, 2011 but a March 31 announcement was made by the board that elections would be held on October 15. As that date approached, several attempts to hold a board meeting in order to lay out a process for elections were postponed. Before long, the highly controversial compliance audit review of USACA’s member leagues was commissioned by the board which further stalled elections.Elections were constitutionally mandated to take place no later than November 30, 2011. However, at an October 22 meeting in Florida, members of the board approved a plan which laid out a timeline for elections to take place by December 21. At a November 17 board meeting, compliance review auditor Robert Chance stated that he needed more time to collect information regarding the eligibility of leagues. The board met again on December 3 and decided to push back elections three months with a date set for March 17, 2011.The results of Chance’s compliance audit were made public on February 10. On February 26, the board voted to make more than two-thirds of member leagues ineligible to vote. By the time of the newly scheduled election date of April 14, the current board will have been in place a year and 16 days longer than their three-year term limit.Former Cricket Canada CEO Atul Ahuja, who had earlier stated his intentions of running for USACA president, issued a pair of press releases last week to announce that he will now boycott the USACA elections.”Team Ahuja unanimously condemns the arbitrary exclusion of two-thirds of the US Cricket leagues from voting in the upcoming elections,” a release from Ahuja said. “The manipulation of the electoral process in this manner is bound to bring further disrepute to the administration of the sport.”Protesting the exclusion of 32 of the 47 leagues from voting, Team Ahuja has unanimously decided to boycott participation in the upcoming US Cricket election. Team Ahuja reiterates that the role of a governing body is to include and not exclude the vast majority of stakeholders and custodians of cricket in the United States.”

David Hemp, the Bermuda captain, has said qualifying for the World Twenty20 in Sri Lanka would go a long way in resurrecting cricket on the island, particularly from a financial perspective. Bermuda cricket has seen a downturn since the heights of qualifying for the 2007 one-day World Cup but they have an opportunity to qualify for another ICC event when they participate in the World T20 qualifiers in the UAE in March.”It would mean an incredible amount, not only from a financial perspective but also from a cricketing one,” Hemp said. “I say this in light of the position that we currently find ourselves in, having slipped away from both ODI and High Performance status, which has naturally had a negative impact on funding. Qualifying for the ICC World Twenty20 in Sri Lanka would create an excitement and rejuvenate interest in the game again.”Bermuda are in Group A of the 16-team tournament in the UAE, along with Afghanistan, Papua New Guinea, Denmark, Canada, Netherlands, Hong Kong and Nepal. Hemp said the fact that his team have played all but one of the teams in their group before gives them an advantage.”We’ve met all the sides in our group apart from Nepal so we’re feeling good after plenty of practice and preparation on the island in the last few months. I believe that the squad does have a chance of qualifying. We have a good balance between experience and youth, and several players possess the ability to perform a variety of roles if needed.”Bermuda will need to finish in the top three in their group to have a chance of earning one of the two spots up for grabs for the World Twenty20, to be held in September 2012. Hemp said he was aware that Canada and Netherlands, who played in the 50-over World Cup last year, and Afghanistan, who qualified for the previous World Twenty20, would be favourites to progress from their group.He said one of the players to watch out for in the Bermuda side was 17-year-old fast-bowling allrounder Kamau Leverock, nephew of Dwayne Leverock, who was one of Bermuda’s most-famous players. “Kamau is currently at school in the UK and has been getting some experience in second XI county sides. No segundo tempo o Boa foi fatal. Logo aos 6 minutos, William Barbio chutou, a bola pegou na trave e Daniel Cruz aproveitou o rebote.

Antes dos 15 minutos o time da casa ampliou o marcador. Após cruzamento, Daniel Cruz se antecipou a marcação e novamente balançou a rede.
