أعلن نادي ساوثهامبتون إقالة المدير الفني للفريق الأول لكرة القدم، رالف هاسينهوتل، من منصبه بسبب سوء النتائج في الموسم الحالي من بطولة الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز.

وسقط الفريق على أرضه يوم أمس، الأحد، أمام نيوكاسل يونايتد 1-4 وهو ما أدى إلى اتخاذ الإدارة قرار إقالة المدرب النمساوي من منصبه بعد 4 سنوات.

ويعتقد مجلس إدارة نادي ساوثهامبتون أن الوقت كان مناسبًا لإجراء تغييرًا ووجه الشكر إلى هاسينهوتل بعد نجاحات كبيرة ساهم فيها مع النادي الإنجليزي.

يأتي ذلك قبل أيام قليلة من مباراة ليفربول في الجولة السادسة عشر من بطولة الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز يوم، السبت المقبل، في تمام الساعة الخامسة عصرًا بتوقيت “القاهرة” على ملعب “أنفيلد”.

According to journalist and transfer insider, Romano, there are still areas that ten Hag and Manchester United are yet to agree on to complete his move to the club this summer.

Romano tweeted: “Erik ten Hag wants to make sure he has enough ‘power’ to decide on the project together with the board, and especially to avoid transfer mistakes.

“That’s why he’s still in discussions with Man Utd before signing.”

Good news

For supporters of the club, ten Hag’s desire to play a part in transfers and power that allows him to have much more involvement than those that managed the team before him is good news in terms of the project that needs to be completed given the manager’s track record with building teams.

The 52-year-old tactician has got his team at Ajax playing phenomenal attacking football that has proven to be highly efficient and successful in the Dutch league and European competitions.

This season alone Ajax are winning 2.45 points and scoring 3.04 per game with a win ratio of 78.57% putting the side at the top of the Eredivisie table four points clear of PSV and currently in with a good chance of securing their third title under ten Hag, according to FootyStats.

In terms of European competitions, the Ajax boss took the side to their first Champions League semi-final in 22 years back in 2019, but this season ironically crashed out of the prestigious competition on the same night as Manchester United, when they lost to Benfica at home in the round of 16.

Despite not being able to lift a Champions League trophy yet in his managerial career, Manchester United supporters and the board will be hoping the winning mentality he has built in the Netherlands can be emulated and will further progress in England if he joins Old Trafford this summer.

With RB Leipzig reportedly attempting to hijack the deal by signing up ten Hag in the Bundesliga, the Red Devils must do everything they can to complete the move for the Dutch coach as soon as they can.

Tom Heggelman struck three fours in his 16 as the score crept into three figures before Eastwood dismissed him for his second wicket of the day. Pieter Seelaar and Maurits Jonkman fell in the same over from van der Merwe and it seemed like Borren would be stranded without partners.Eastwood intervened again in the 39th over of the innings, trapping Borren in front for 37, and the win was sealed in the next over when Bernard Loots offered van der Merwe a return catch. George Dockrell, who had indulged himself with four wickets in the first innings, only got two overs to bowl in the second as Netherlands succumbed in quick time, giving Ireland a memorable win.

What’s the word?

The Athletic journalist David Ornstein has revealed more insight to the deal currently being discussed between ten Hag and Manchester United.

Ornstein Tweeted:

“Erik Ten Hag close to making decision on whether to join Man Utd, If agrees in principle, contract must satisfy all demands before he signs.

“MUFC may negotiate exit with Ajax rather than pay clause. No announcement pre KNVB final.”

Supporters surely buzzing

There were reports on Monday from Sky Sports News that RB Leipzig were planning to hijack the deal between the Ajax coach and the Premier League club by making their own approach for his services this summer, so this update from Ornstein will be well received and will surely delight supporters about the progress.

With the KNVB cup final taking place this Saturday, it would suggest that an announcement could be made as early as next week on the appointment of the Ajax boss, and the Manchester United board will likely also be similarly relieved to have the deal done so that they can focus on the massive project ahead of them to get the club back to their best.

Ten Hag is believed to want Robin Van Persie and Steve McClaren involved in his management team at Old Trafford, which would be another huge bonus for the fans as van Persie was a beloved player at the club and his reunion with the Red Devils would surely be welcomed.

The Ajax boss could win two trophies over the next few months, with the potential of winning his third Dutch Cup this weekend and his side are currently four points clear at the top of the table meaning they are in with a great chance to win their third Eredivisie title under the manager.

If the 52-year-old is triumphant in collecting trophies this season it will surely put him in good stead to inject a winning mentality at Old Trafford next term, with United desperately in need of their own silverware after falling into their longest trophy drought in four decades.

Manchester United now have the opportunity to sign a high-quality manager, with winning experience and the desire to have full involvement in the project at the club, so getting the deal over the line must be the top priority for the board over the next few days and weeks.
