A number of Norwich City supporters have been left impressed by reported managerial candidate Kjetil Knutsen after footage of his Bodo/Glimt side was shared via Twitter.

The 53-year-old has been strongly linked with the vacant manager’s job at Carrow Road, with Dean Smith and Frank Lampard also reportedly among the leading candidates to replace Daniel Farke, who was relieved of his duties within hours of Saturday’s win at Brentford.

Knutsen made history last year by guiding Bodo/Glimt to their first Norwegian league title and his team also made waves on the continent in recent weeks, thrashing Roma 6-1 in the Europa Conference League and earning a 2-2 draw in the return fixture at the Stadio Olimpico.

According to a report in the Eastern Daily Press, he is renowned as a process-driven coach with a clear footballing identity, his tactics revolving around a possession-based, high-pressing 4-3-3 setup.

Twitter fan channel Canary Cast shared a 72-second clip from the aforementioned thrashing of Roma which showed Bodo/Glimt playing an intricate, free-flowing move with a multitude of passes before a killer through ball resulted in a sumptuous goal.

These Norwich fans were impressed by what they saw and gave their backing to Knutsen being potentially hired as Farke’s successor.

According to football.london reporter Alasdair Gold, the north London outfit are currently revamping their scouting and recruitment network under sporting director Fabio Paratici and director of technical performance Steve Hitchen.

“Understand Fabio Paratici and Steve Hitchen are currently undertaking an overhaul of Spurs’ scouting set-up, among other departments, to bring it in line with Europe’s top clubs,” he revealed on Twitter.

In an accompanying article, the ever-reliable journalist claims that the Italian supremo is putting processes in place to ensure that Tottenham can spot and snap up the best young talent across Europe and bring their setup in line with some of the biggest clubs around the world.

Paratici has vast experience, having been largely responsible for Juventus’ success over the years, having spent 11 years in a similar role in Turin.

Spurs’ scouting department will hopefully soon match those at top Premier League and European sides too, thus handing manager Antonio Conte and the entire club a game-changing boost.

In recent years, their transfer activity has been very contrasting.

There was once a time that the Lilywhites went through two transfer windows without signing a single player under Mauricio Pochettino, who still managed to guide the team to a Champions League final.

Some additions like Ryan Sessegnon, Giovani Lo Celso, Jack Clarke and even Steven Bergwijn have flattered to deceive, all struggling with injuries and inconsistencies.

This summer saw a glimpse into what could lie ahead, with Paratici signing some promising future talent in Bryan Gil (20) and Pape Matar Sarr (19). Even Cristian Romero (23) and Emerson Royal (22) are others who can be considered in this bracket.

O dia 2 de dezembro de 2009 é inesquecível para a torcida tricolor. Uma temporada após conquistar o vice-campeonato da Copa Libertadores, o Fluminense se viu frente a frente com a LDU no Maracanã. Naquela vez, a decisão era da Sul-Americana, mas os equatorianos novamente frustraram milhares de torcedores que compareceram e fizeram linda festa no estádio.

Ao lado de Gum, Marquinho é um dos atletas que fizeram parte da campanha de 2009 que está no atual elenco. E o meia partilha do sentimento da torcida: o vice-campeonato da Sul-Americana, no Maracanã, não sai de sua cabeça.

-Foi um pecado a gente não levar aquele título, mas a experiência de ter estado em campo naquele dia foi única. O final do jogo com a torcida de pé, cantando e aplaudindo foi sensacional. Para o clube, o jogo na sequência, contra o Coritiba, foi mais importante, mas essa partida contra a LDU nunca vai sair da minha cabeça – comentou Marquinho, meio-campo do Fluminense.

Depois de perder por 5 a 1 em Quito, no Estádio Casa Blanca, o Flu, comandado por Cuca e empurrado por mais 69 mil torcedores, venceu por 3 a 0. Faltou um gol para a taça ir para as Laranjeiras. Anos depois, Marquinho relembra a luta do time em campo e as dificuldades que a equipe encontrou contra o rival.

-Foi um jogo muito pesado. Teve briga com juiz, teve briga entre os jogadores e muita discussão. A gente conseguiu o 2 a 0 no primeiro tempo e a torcida estava toda em cima, empurrando a gente. Uma sensação incrível, indescritível. Tanto que no intervalo não fomos para o vestiário, ficamos em campo, depois sentamos no banco de reservas, para permanecer naquele clima. Tentamos de tudo na segunda etapa. O Fred foi expulso e não dá para dizer se com ele em campo conseguiríamos mais gols. A arbitragem também prejudicou demais.

Nesta quinta, o Maracanã volta a ser palco do duelo entre Fluminense e LDU, desta vez pela partida de ida das oitavas de final da Copa Sul-Americana. O meia Marquinho, que se recupera de uma cirurgia no joelho direito, não está à disposição de Abel Braga, mas será mais um tricolor nas arquibancadas. A última parcial divulgada pelo clube foi de mais de 30 mil ingressos vendidos.

A presença e o apoio da torcida em 2009, antes, durante e depois da final, também são lembradas por Marquinho, que destacou a importância dos torcedores naquela final. O meia relembrou momentos especiais que viveu desde a saída da concentração do clube até o gramado do Maracanã.

-Logo na saída do hotel, a gente estava entrando no ônibus e o Cuca chamou o Diguinho e eu. Nós, juntos com o Ruy, que tinha um banjo, e o Tartá, que fazia o batuque, comandávamos a “bagunça” no fundo do ônibus. O Cuca pediu para a gente fazer muito barulho, brincar bastante, porque estava sentindo o grupo muito tenso e queria que o pessoal relaxasse. E assim foi, todos empolgados, gritando e a gente nem percebeu o trajeto – disse o meia, antes de seguir:

– Quando fomos chegando no Maracanã percebemos aquela multidão nos cercando, fazendo o corredor para o ônibus. Foi muito marcante. Me lembro de ver jogadores chorando de tão emocionante. No caminho para o vestiário colocaram cartazes com mensagens das famílias… Foi tudo muito empolgante.

Raju and Goud were involved in a composed stand of 48 for the fourth wicket, while Nidesh was involved in a crucial stand of 29 for the seventh with Muralidharen Gautam to level the scores. Nidesh then picked a single off the penultimate ball of the 20th over to seal victory and overcome a three-wicket burst from Jayprakash Shetty.A spell of 4 for 16 by Prasana Patil had earlier helped Davangere limit Bijapur to a chaseable score. Patil triggered a collapse, as Bijapur lost four wickets for 11 after Sudhindra Shinde (30) and Surendra Prasad (31) had revived the team with a 54-run stand.
