As per Plaza Radio (via Plaza Deportiva), the Goodison Park faithful have reportedly joined the race to sign the Valencia ace.

His contract at the La Liga club runs out on 2024, and they are demanding a transfer fee of at least €25m (£21.6m) for anyone to sign him once the summer window opens.

Guedes scored a respectable seven goals and made a further seven assists in 34 games in total over all competitions in the 2020/21 term (Transfermarkt), and at 24 years of age, he has certainly not reached his footballing peak yet.

Nonetheless, with Carlo Ancelotti looking to strengthen his attacking options for next season, the winger could well be the answer to his prayers.

Rotherham United have received a big boost in their bid to sign 21-year-old defender Jacob Bedeau as it has been revealed that Portsmouth are not interested in signing him this summer.

What’s the talk?

Earlier this season, The Athletic claimed that Rotherham, Luton, Barnsley and Huddersfield were all monitoring Bedeau’s situation at Scunthorpe. Bedeau is out of contract this summer and all four clubs have been looking at the defender as a possible target as they all ponder defensive reinforcements heading into the 2021/22 campaign.

Football Insider then added Portsmouth’s name to the list of clubs chasing Bedeau on a free transfer, which could have added more competition for Rotherham in the race for his signature.

However, Hampshire Live have provided a response to the report and stated that Bedeau is not a player Portsmouth want to add to their squad this summer, leaving Rotherham and the aforementioned Championship clubs as the only teams left gunning for his services.

Huge boost

This could be a huge boost to Rotherham’s chances of landing the 21-year-old centre-back this summer. Portsmouth could be a promotion rival to Rotherham in League One next year, given that the Hampshire-based club finished 8th in the table and Paul Warne’s side were relegated from the Championship.

The two clubs could be fighting against each other to secure promotion to the second tier, which means that interest from Portsmouth in Bedeau could have been a genuine challenge to Rotherham, given how similar the two clubs are in terms of thier potential ambitions and targets.

Despite only being 21, Bedeau proved to be a beast at League Two level for Scunthorpe. He averaged 3.2 aerial battles won, 3.8 clearances made and one block per game across 34 appearances.

Bedeau was adept at winning headers and putting his body on the line to defend his goal, showing great instincts for a young defender at a physical level of football.

Warne could integrate him into his squad to inject some freshness into his defence. Richard Wood, 35, Angus MacDonald, 28, and Michael Ihiekwe, 28, were his first-choice centre-back trio in the Championship, suggesting that there could be an opening for a younger player to come in and play a part in League One.

At the age of 21, Bedeau could learn from MacDonald, Ihiekwe and Wood to improve his game, whilst also being coached by Warne, in order to add to the strong qualities he has already shown in the fourth tier of English football.

Therefore, Portsmouth’s lack of interest in Bedeau could come as a big boost to Warne and Rotherham. Not only could Bedeau make an instant impact at Rotherham, as shown by his defending statistics from Scunthorpe’s season, but he could also have the potential to improve further and be a long-term asset for the club.

Arouca está negociando sua transferência para o Atlético-MG. A ideia é convencer o Palmeiras, clube ao qual o volante está vinculado até janeiro de 2019, a liberá-lo sem custos para acertar um contrato em definitivo com o Galo.

O Verdão é dono de apenas 40% dos direitos econômicos de Arouca – o Santos tem 40% e a Teisa, empresa ligada ao Peixe, tem outros 20%. O argumento do Galo e do jogador é de que o clube economizaria dois anos de salários com a liberação. O problema é que a diretoria do Palmeiras tem relutado para negociar jogadores com rivais que vão disputar a Libertadores. O assunto deve ser tratado em reunião nos próximos dias.

Quem está tocando a negociação em nome de Arouca é Vany Alda. Ela era casada com Richard Alda, empresário do camisa 5, que faleceu em dezembro. O Atlético-MG foi notificado nesta quarta-feira de que ela é a única pessoa autorizada a tratar em nome de Arouca.

O problema é que outros empresários procuraram o Galo e Arouca para intermediar a negociação. É o caso do uruguaio Mario Rosi. Em contato com o LANCE!, ele disse que deixou tudo acertado com Eduardo Maluf, diretor de futebol do Galo, com o consentimento do jogador. O contrato seria de três anos, com salários próximos aos recebidos no Palmeiras, e a transferência dependeria do “ok” do clube paulista. Rosi se disse surpreso com a notificação enviada por Vany Alda ao Atlético-MG e não consegue contato telefônico com ela.

Também em contato com a reportagem, o estafe de Arouca reiterou que Vany é a única pessoa autorizada a conversar em nome dele:

“Somente o Palmeiras e a empresária têm autorização para falar por Arouca. Se alguém está negociando o Arouca com outro clube sem a autorização do jogador e da empresária, o procedimento está completamente equivocado. A empresária do jogador não conhece essas pessoas”.

Com Vany à frente, as negociações com o Atlético-MG têm avançado nos últimos dias. O jogador disputou apenas duas partidas do último Brasileirão e sabe que dificilmente terá sequência em 2017, já que o Palmeiras acaba de contratar Felipe Melo. No Galo, ele chegaria com status de titular, já que Leandro Donizete se transferiu para o Santos.

The Lowdown: Harkin to Hoops off

Fergal Harkin was the name heavily linked with the newly created role in recent months, with reports back in March going as far as saying a move was 90% done.

However, just like with Eddie Howe, a move to Celtic Park is now off. Harkin, City’s Football Partnerships Manager, is no longer looking to leave the Etihad, despite being a ‘massive’ Hoops fan.

The Latest: Nixon’s DoF worry

Nixon, who writes for The Sun, has interacted with Celtic supporters regarding any off-field developments on a regular basis.

He was asked by a Hoops fan on Friday evening for any new updates at Parkhead, to which he said:

“Sorting out this Ange thing… as for a Director of Football… dear me.”

The Verdict: Time is running out; Hoops to turn to Maloney?

By the looks of it, Celtic appear to be in a mess when it comes to appointing a DoF.

However, the Daily Record believe that former Hoops man Shaun Maloney has held initial talks about taking the position.

One thing is certain, though, and that is time is running out for Celtic to get their off-field issues sorted.

The transfer window opens on Wednesday and Celtic players will return for pre-season on June 17.

Should the manager and DoF roles remain vacant on those dates, it may well hinder the club’s hopes for a successful 2021/22 campaign.

Quite simply, the Hoops hierarchy need to turn things around quickly, or they risk turning a crucial summer for the club’s future into a hectic and unproductive one.

قطر متهمة باستغلال العمال المهاجرين منذ حصولها على حق استضافة كأس العالم من قبل فيفا في 2010، حيث أظهرت الأبحاث أن أكثر من 6500 ماتوا أثناء بناء الملاعب للبطولة.

وهناك أيضًا مخاوف بشأن التمييز ضد النساء ومجتمع المثليين في الدولة الخليجية.

وردًا على سؤال حول ما إذا كان فريق إنجلترا سيفكر في مقاطعة كأس العالم كشكل من أشكال الاحتجاج، قال ساوثجيت: “لا أعرف حقًا ما الذي سيحققه ذلك”.

وأضاف في تصريحات نشرتها صحيفة “مترو” الإنجليزية: “ستكون بالطبع قصة كبيرة، لكن هذه البطولة ستمضي قدمًا، والحقيقة للأسف أن أكبر مشكلة غير دينية وغير ثقافية هي ما حدث مع بناء الملاعب، لا يوجد شيء يمكننا القيام به حيال ذلك، للأسف”.

وواصل: “بمجرد دخولنا البطولة، هذه هي النقطة التي يجب أن نقرر ما عرفناه منذ أربع سنوات أو ثماني سنوات وهو الموقف ضد قطر كدولة”.

واستكمل: “وهل علينا الاحتجاج على قطر كدولة أم قضية معينة؟ إذا كانت قطر كدولة، فنحن متورطون في الأمر كما رأينا مع روسيا، لدينا كل أنواع الاستثمار في بلادنا، هل سنتوقف جميعًا عن التسوق في سينسبري؟ نحن في عالم معقد من الصفقات، كما رأينا مع المملكة العربية السعودية”.

وأوضح: “من ناحية يتحدث الناس عن الاستثمار في نيوكاسل، ومن ناحية أخرى نذهب إليهم ونطلب منهم خفض أسعار النفط حتى نتمكن من الحصول على بنزين أرخص، لذلك نحن جميعًا نراقب هذه الأشياء، إنه حقًا أمر صعب ومتشابك”.

يعتقد ساوثجيت أن الاحتجاج بنشاط خلال كأس العالم سيكون أكثر فاعلية من مقاطعة البطولة تمامًا.

واستمر: “لا أعتقد أن هذا قرار يمكن للاعبين أو أنا اتخاذه، فيما يتعلق بمقاطعة البطولة، ما أفهمه هو أن المناقشات التي أجراها اتحاد كرة القدم مع منظمات مثل منظمة العفو الدولية هي أنهم يشعرون أنه سيكون هناك المزيد من التغيير إذا ذهبنا وتم تسليط الضوء على هذه الأشياء، وهذا أيضًا يوجه بعض التفكير”.

وأردف: “هناك بعض الأشياء الدينية والثقافية التي سيكون من الصعب تغييرها، ولكن هناك فرصة لاستخدام الأصوات والبطولة بطريقة إيجابية، لا شك”.

وأكد: “مهما فعلنا سنتعرض للانتقاد، سنحاول ونبذل قصارى جهدنا، يجب أن نستخدم أصواتنا بالطريقة الصحيحة في الوقت المناسب، ولكن هناك الكثير من القضايا الأخرى التي نتعامل معها جميعًا”.

Com melhores público e renda no estádio municipal, a diretoria do Peixe já avisou que neste ano mandará mais jogos na capital paulista. São 15 jogos de invencibilidade no estádio desde a derrota para o Ituano por 1 a 0, na final do Campeonato Paulista de 2014.

A estratégia do presidente Modesto Roma é consequência de uma simples matemática. Em 2016, o melhor público registrado pelo clube foi justamente quando atuou no Pacaembu e conseguiu levar 24.586 torcedores. O confronto foi contra o Santa Cruz, na vitória por 3 a 2, válido pelo Brasileirão.

Como se não bastasse o prejuízo que teve em alguns jogos na Vila, o Santos tem praticamente o dobro de público quando joga na capital: média de 8.909 contra 16.935 no Pacaembu.

– Pretendemos mandar diversos jogos nesse ano no Pacaembu. Agora, o Santos assumir um custo, tudo o que é preciso fazer, é muito difícil. É preciso construir banheiros, melhorar acomodações, melhorar tudo. E não temos nenhuma resposta. Não pode fazer show, eventos fora futebol, não há estacionamento e camarote porque são da prefeitura. Já disse ao (João) Doria isso – declarou Modesto Roma.

O novo prefeito de São Paulo, João Doria (PSDB), é santista e já afirmou que pretende entregar a administração do Pacaembu à iniciativa privada por dez ou 15 anos. O Santos, porém, não pretende se candidatar ao posto.

– Privatização e concessão, não. Não temos condição de assumir os custos do Pacaembu. Somos locatários, usuários eventuais – esclareceu o mandatário santista.

No próximo dia 29, o Santos utilizará o Pacaembu para um amistoso contra o Kenitra, do Marrocos. Depois, o time estreia no Paulistão, no dia 5 de fevereiro, contra o Linense, na Vila Belmiro.

Arena santista será apresentada ao conselho

O projeto que visa a dar ao Santos uma arena multiuso ainda está em discussão. A expectativa do clube era que as obras começassem ainda no início deste ano, mas elas ainda dependem da aprovação do Conselho Deliberativo.

A construção do novo estádio será no terreno da Associação Atlética dos Portuários e terá a capacidade para 27.286 torcedores. O investimento, que contaria com o auxílio de uma iniciativa privada, é de R$ 400 milhões.

De acordo com o presidente Modesto Roma, o projeto ainda inclui a modernização da Vila Belmiro com a aplicação de R$ 25 milhões, além da manutenção do estádio – que hoje gira em torno de R$ 300 mil – custeada pelo fundo de investimentos americano.
