يخاطر نادي مانشستر سيتي بإزعاج منتخب مصر فيما يخص النجم عمر مرموش الذي يقترب من مغادرة ملعب “الاتحاد” من أجل المشاركة في بطولة كأس أمم إفريقيا.
وتستضيف المغرب نهائيات بطولة كأس أمم إفريقيا، وذلك في الفترة بين 21 ديسمبر 2025 و18 يناير 2026.
وسيخوض منتخب مصر معسكرا تدريبيا استعدادا لبطولة كأس أمم إفريقيا حيث استدعى المدير الفني، حسام حسن، لاعبيه للبدء في الاستعدادات من يوم الإثنين المقبل، حيث سيخوضون مباراة ودية ضد نيجيريا يوم 14 ديسمبر.
ويرغب حسام حسن في الاستعانة بخدمات النجم عمر مرموش وكذلك لاعب ليفربول محمد صلاح، في الوقت المناسب لخوض المباراة الودية ضد نيجيريا، قبل بطولة كأس الأمم الإفريقية.

وذكرت شبكة “مانشستر إيفنينج نيوز” الإنجليزية أنه في هذا السياق، جرت مناقشات بين الاتحاد المصري لكرة القدم ومانشستر سيتي لمعرفة ما إذا كان من الممكن إطلاق سراح عمر مرموش في الوقت المناسب للحاق بمباراة نيجيريا.
وأوضحت أن مانشستر سيتي يريد السماح لـ مرموش بخوض البطولة نفسها فقط، وبما أن المباراة الأولى لمنتخب مصر لن تُقام قبل يوم 22 ديسمبر، فإن النادي ينوي التخلي عنه بعد مباراتهم في الدوري الإنجليزي ضد كريستال بالاس يوم 14 ديسمبر.
وأفادت أنه بناءً على ذلك، سيخوض مرموش مباريات مانشستر سيتي ضد فولهام، سندرلاند، ريال مدريد وكريستال بالاس، قبل انضمامه إلى منتخب مصر.
وقد يغيب مرموش عن ما يصل إلى عشر مباريات عن مانشستر سيتي إذا وصل منتخب مصر إلى النهائي، ولن تُقام المباراة النهائية قبل 18 يناير.
في غيابه، سيخوض مانشستر سيتي مباريات في الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز، ودوري أبطال أوروبا، وكأس الاتحاد الإنجليزي، وكأس كاراباو.

Bracewell was dropped at slip on 2 by Root, in Overton’s opening over, while Mitchell had an even more glaring let-off on 33, when Wood at backward point dropped a sitter of a reverse-sweep off the legspin of Adil Rashid.With the requirement under control, however, New Zealand were able to play well within themselves – at least until Bracewell needlessly ran himself out with 66 still needed, whereupon Mitchell ramped New Zealand’s first six over fine leg to signal the final charge. Santner added two more in quick succession off Rashid before holing out to long-on for 27, but Mitchell launched the winning hit over backward square.The fireworks, and the talking points, however, had long since been and gone.

Nick Pope’s moment of madness allowed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to equalise from wide, before the former Arsenal man was at it again to score what proved to be the eventual winner for the French hosts.
It’s not the first time that Pope has come under fire in a Newcastle shirt this season, but Howe decided to back his shot-stopper in his post-match interview, saying: “I think it’s a concern when we concede goals, regardless of who’s at fault. I think we have to look at everything with a balanced head.
“He (Pope) saved us many times. He made some really good saves against Manchester City just two days ago. That’s the life of a goalkeeper. But I’ll certainly back him.”
With Aaron Ramsdale waiting in the wings, however, it remains to be seen just how many more chances Pope will receive. Up next, Newcastle travel to the Hill Dickinson stadium for the first time to face an Everton side who just defeated Manchester United at Old Trafford.
It’s a game that the Magpies will be desperate to win to at least make it back-to-back victories in the Premier League. Alas, it’s also one that may expose their lack of depth in midfield once again.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Howe has now told Newcastle to sign Kone after sending his scouts to watch the impressive AS Roma midfielder.
The midfielder would instantly add depth to the Magpies’ midfield, but Roma have already reportedly dealt those at St James’ Park a frustrating blow in pursuit of his signature. Unsurprisingly, Roma are keen to keep hold of Kone and have told Newcastle that he is not for sale in 2026.
Whether Newcastle test the waters despite Roma’s stance is the big question. Kone would certainly be worth the chase. The Frenchman was dubbed “composed” by Como scout Ben Mattinson ahead of arriving in Serie A in the summer and could yet be on his way to the Premier League.

Leeds United pulled off an impressive victory to get back to winning ways in the Premier League on Wednesday night. Daniel Farke’s side beat Chelsea 3-1 at Elland Road to pick up a huge three points.
It was the perfect start for the Whites in front of a packed-out home crowd. After an intense first five minutes or so where they dominated, Leeds broke the deadlock.
It came from a corner, with defender Jaka Bijol making a brilliant run to the front post and emphatically heading home.
Chelsea didn’t really threaten much and eventually paid the price. Leeds doubled their lead right on the stroke of half-time, through a brilliant strike by Ao Tanaka.
The Whites won the ball back on the edge of the visitors’ penalty area, with Jayden Bogle finding Tanaka in space. The Japanese international fired home a strike from range to put them 2-0 up.
Chelsea did pull one back with just 50 minutes on the clock, thanks to substitute Pedro Neto at the back post. Yet, Leeds managed to keep them at bay, and with 18 minutes to go, capitalised on a defensive error to secure all three points.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored their third, a goal which capped off a brilliant performance.

Calvert-Lewin’s goalscoring form has begun to improve in recent games. He bagged against Manchester City last weekend, and again against Chelsea on Wednesday night, although that strike was certainly easier.
It was a mistake from Blues defender Tosin Adarabioyo which led to the goal, with the centre-back playing a sloppy pass to Robert Sanchez.
The Spaniard was immediately under pressure, with the ball crocheting off his body and into the path of Calvert-Lewin, who tapped home from two yards out.
However, it was not just his goal which impressed about the former Everton striker’s performance.
He was a nuisance throughout for the Chelsea defence, with Graham Smyth of the Yorkshire Evening Post awarding him a 9/10 rating, explaining that he ‘brought others into play’ superbly.
Indeed, the statistics back up what was a superb showing from Calvert-Lewin. He only had 37 touches but made an impact with most of those, winning an impressive 11 duels, managing three shots and, of course, bagging Leeds’ third goal.

The numbers from the game reflect a controlled midfield performance from Leeds’ summer signing. He had 50 touches and completed 19 out of 24 passes, creating a superb four chances, one of which teed up Tanaka for his goal.

The 27-year-old German was a “revelation” in the centre of the park, according to journalist Adonis Storr. That is something Smyth seemed to agree with, also giving him a 9/10 rating post-match, calling that showing his ‘best Leeds performance’.
Indeed, it is easy to see why Smyth is of that opinion. For the German to put in a showing like that against a side competing in the Champions League and that are pushing Arsenal at the top of the Premier League is a colossal effort.
He was everywhere against one of the strongest sides in the top flight, and the chances he created added that creative spark in the final third. He played a huge role in Leeds’ attacking play, which ultimately helped get them over the line.
Stach proved why he could be considered an undroppable member of this Leeds side. This was a much-needed win, and he was right at the heart of it.
Calvert-Lewin’s goals recently have been key, but Stach’s performance in midfield is exactly what is needed for them to beat the drop.

Starc came out aggressively to dish up more pain to Carse, whose tame attempts at a short-ball barrage proved once again ineffective. The second new ball did seem to produce more inconsistent bounce off the surface, offering hope for England to wrap up the innings. They appeared to be closing in when the luckless Gus Atkinson finally took his first Ashes wicket after nicking off Carey for 63, ending 41 overs of toil without reward in the series.But England were made to endure the heat for a few more hours as Starc and Boland combined for the longest partnership of the series in terms of balls faced. But a few deliveries later Starc smoked a boundary to notch his 12th Test half-century. In the process he became the first Australian to score a fifty and take a five-wicket haul in an Ashes match since Mitchell Johnson during his wondrous 2013-14 series.Starc moved past Stuart Broad for most career Test runs batting at No.9 as he inched closer to a maiden century having once made 99 in India. But after more than two hours in the middle, Starc started to feel the pinch as he called for medical assistance with his right elbow feeling sore.
